Crossing False Borders- A Youth Skola Report (Decolonewz sElection Issue)

My name is Cassandra, from Poor Magazine. Today I’m talking about borders. I do not believe in borders due to the fact that I come from migrant family members that immigrated from Nayarit, Mexico to the United States twenty five years ago. I will also be talking about the UN Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous People and it’s importance in the upcoming election.

(President Obama) Free Leonard Peltier- a PNN Youth Skola Report (Deecolonewz sElection Issue)

Leonard Peltier born on september 12, 1944 In North Dakota, U.S. He was part of the American Indian Movement (AIM). Not only was he part of the AIM, but he was a leader. Leonard was arrested in 1977. He was blamed for “murdering two FBI agents”; witnesses say Leonard did not shoot them. But more than 60 members of the American Indian Movement were murdered. The reason why this conflict started was because of a 1975 argument about the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. In the court three teenaged native witnesses testified against Leonard.

The Panama Papers-A PNN Youth Skola report (Decolonewz sElection Issue)

The Panama papers was when wealth hoarding scammers who look after themselves had been paying their taxes in Panama instead of America because in Panama taxes are less. Reporters have been researching this for a whole year while people had no idea what was going on and that's probably why people in America and in other places have more money over the normal people.

America’s Other Death Penalty Problem and Life Without the Possibility of Parole (LWOPP) and The Absolute Prohibition of Torture and Cruel, Inhuman, and Degrading Treatment or Punishment- Notes from the Inside

America’s Other Death Penalty Problem

What does it say about a country that can condemn 50,000 men and women to the slow, grinding death in prison of life without the possibility of parole? In 49 of these United States, the sentence of death by imprisonment is a well-used option. In several states- California, Florida, Louisiana, Michigan, and Pennsylvania- there are thousands of individuals suffering under this sentence, in the worst prisons, with the greatest restrictions, and the fewest privileges.

From Oak Flats to Oakland The fight to save all of our Mountains on Turtle Island

It was a low, silent whisper

The Cries of Mama Earth were those of a woman who believed no-one would find her
if you listened very carefully you could hear a low destroyed cry rise up with every drop of grayish-white blood that seeped from her skin

Mama Earth was screaming
It was the scream at the end of a rape
when we barely have enough energy to breathe... excerpt of MountainRape by tiny

From Flagstaff to Flint -Some of our Communities Cant Drink Their Own Water

Some of our communities can’t even drink their own water because it’s so poisonous” said Klee Benally, a Dine revolutionary who works all over America but lives in Flagstaff, Arizona. Klee has done work to protect the San Francisco Peaks in Flagstaff from becoming a ski resort. But, the government went along with it anyways.

The Ugly Truth About Prisons and Our Society

Imprisonment is usually justified by appeals to one of two philosophies: protecting the public or rehabilitating the prisoners. By either standard, however, the evidence is overwhelming that prisons do not work. In fact, if one had systematically and diabolically tried to create mental illness, one could probably have constructed no better system than the American prison system.
