An Empty House

Po Poetry From South Africa

by Tendai R. Mwanaka

You have come from the east?

Have you been here before this?

Of-course, she believed the stars!

Even though you are aiming at me,

I might as well admit it!

The food was not so bad.

But did you see what she saw,

Standing so gaily like
breaking shadows?

An empty house on
an empty street.
