RESISTANCE AWARDS DINNER

To honor and give respect to folks for struggle, resistance, and survival through poverty, race and class oppression

Sunday, April 14th marked the First Annual Resistance Awards Dinner and Ceremony which honored 17 adults, elders and youth of the Bay Area and beyond who have "resisted" by organizing, protesting, advocating and/or surviving their own struggle and their communities’ struggle with poverty and/or racism .

As well as a live presentation of a poem written in their honor by The Po' Poets of POOR Magazine, they received a hand-crafted resistance art-award- sculpture, and were featured in Resistance - a book in tribute, Published by POOR Press.
